Employee Appreciation Day

by ExecuTrain on February 29, 2016

AppreciatedEmployee Appreciation Day is Friday, March 4th!  Employees are your biggest asset so showing appreciation goes a long way.

Did you know, according to a Gallup poll, the #1 reason most Americans leave their jobs is that they don’t feel appreciated?  In fact, 65% of people surveyed said they had not received recognition for good work last year.

So how can you recognize your employees?  Take a look at some of our ideas!

  • Say “thank you!”
  • Bring in donuts/coffee/bagels one morning
  • Put up a bulletin board in your office and allow employees to write notes of appreciation for each other (a shoutout board)
  • Have a department pizza party
  • Start a quarterly peer nominated employee award system
  • Write thank you notes regularly
  • Send them to a training session to show you care about their personal development
  • Surprise employees with dress-down days randomly
  • Bring in a company to give employees a 5 minute chair massage
  • Celebrate department birthdays with a monthly luncheon/potluck
  • Give verbal and public praise
  • Feature employee accomplishments on social media
  • Allow employees to volunteer during work hours together
  • Feature employees on the Employee Intranet site
  • Ask your employees for feedback/ideas

For more ideas and great info, check out http://www.baudville.com/.  They have some great recognition products, a resource center with free e-cards and downloads, and good info on their blog.

“Next to physical survival, the greatest need of a human being is psychological survival, to be understood, to be affirmed, to be validated, to be appreciated.” -Stephen R. Covey

Training Grant Assistance

by ExecuTrain on February 1, 2016

For the past several years, ExecuTrain of Kentucky has been assisting companies through the various training grants available through the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We can build comprehensive training plans for your employees, and help locate additional funding sources available to make the best use of your training investment.

Grants reimburse your company up to 50% of the training costs you incur. This allows you to train more employees than your current budget might allow, all while keeping your business competitive in the global economy.

Are you a manufacturing firm?

Any Kentucky manufacturing firm is eligible for grant funding.

Is the majority of your organization’s income generated outside the state of Kentucky?

If so, then your company makes an economic impact to the state and you may be eligible for grant funding.

Are you a public or non-profit hospital?

All public or non-profit hospitals licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky are eligible for grant funding.

ExecuTrain can help with each step of the grant process:

  • Seek funding opportunities for your company.
  • Fill out and assist with the application paperwork.
  • Represent your company at grant meetings, audits, etc.
  • Maintain the documentation and keep it on file for five years, as required for auditing purposes.
  • Strategize with you to prioritize your training needs and maximize your funding.

Starting the process is easy. Contact us and your account representative will work with you and our full time grant administrator to help guide your company through the process.
